Guardrail work will begin on State Route 85 through Jackson County Monday.
The road may be reduced to one-lane this week at various points as workers repair and replace guardrails from the Smith County line to State Route 56. Guardrails along State Route 262 are also being repaired this week from the Macon County Line to the Cumberland River bridge.
Flaggers will be on hand to assist drivers. Motorists should use caution in these areas and reduce speed.
Resurfacing and paving will begin next week on both roads. TDOT estimates the work will be completed by September.
