Fentress Power Outages Down Under 1,000

More than a thousand Fentress County residents got power restored as daylight emerged following a long day Sunday of heavy rains and strong winds.

As of 6am Monday, just under 1,000 Volunteer Energy customers are without power. Most of the outages in the Clarkrange area have been cleared. The majority of the remaining outages are centered around Jamestown.

Volunteer Energy is also working outages in White County where about 400 people were without power as of 6am. The outages are centered along Highway 70 near the Cumberland County line.

UCEMC continues to work Overton County outages around Shiloh Road and Sunk Cane.

The National Weather Service extended the Wind Advisory for the Upper Cumberland until 10am Monday morning. Wind gusts from 30-40mph have been reported this morning as the cold front passes the area. Meteorologists warn the soaked ground and the strong winds could produce more outages.
