Some 3,295 Upper Cumberland residents filed first-time unemployment claims last week.
That’s up from 86 claims for the week ending March 14.
The Tennessee Department Of Labor and Workforce reports the number of Tennesseans filing for unemployment nearly tripled last week to some 94-thousand people. The Nashville and Knoxville regions were hit hardest.
Less than 1,000 jobless claims reported in the Upper Cumberland the week ending March 21.
