An accident Saturday near Interstate-40 mile marker 300 sent three people to the hospital.
70-year-old Lee Stafford of Jamestown and 51-year-old Yanes Agustin were travelling westbound around 2pm Saturday. Stafford’s vehicle slid into the Agustin’s lane as he navigated in curve. The two vehicles collided sending both into the median. Stafford’s vehicle flipped over onto its passenger door before coming to rest.
Rain was falling at the time.
Stafford and a passenger in his car, Tonya Burtrum, were both transported to Cookeville Regional. Agustin was airlifted to Nashville’s Skyline Medical Center.
