Cookeville Police Chief Randy Evans said an overwhelming number of volunteers traveled to the site of the tornado to help cleanup causing congestion.
“While this represents our community well and shows the true volunteer spirit of our Upper Cumberland citizens, we now ask that you please stay clear of the area,” Evans said.
Evans said emergency personnel need these roadways to reach people in need and ensures emergency management personnel will provide volunteer opportunities throughout the week.
