A Friday evening crash in Cumberland County claimed the life of a Crossville man.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 78-year-old Jerry Scoggins.
A preliminary crash report said Scoggins was traveling West on Interstate 40 when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway near mile marker 334. The report said his Nissan Xterra proceeded to strike a cable barrier before rolling over and landing up right.
Scoggins was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
