Cookeville State Representative Ryan Williams will be the new chairman of the House Life and Health Insurance Subcommittee.
Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton named Williams to the position Tuesday. As a member of the subcommittee, Williams will be responsible for all laws pertaining to life and health insurance.
“I appreciate Speaker Sexton for asking me to serve as House Life & Health Insurance Subcommittee Chairman,” Williams said. “Tennessee’s healthcare industry continues to evolve, and our efforts this year, and in the years ahead will enable this state to become a national leader. I am excited to build upon our recent efforts addressing the health and well-being of all Tennesseans.”
Williams previously served as chairman of the House Health Subcommittee.
