The Sparta City Council will participate in a grant program to provide additional funding for safety equipment.
The “Safety Partners” grant would give the city $15,000 through Public Entity Partners.
Sparta can split the funding across several departments to buy safety belts, boots, and other needed resources.
The grant program runs on a 50-percent match from the city.
The City Council approved the grant opportunity during the Wednesday meeting.
