The Cookeville Police Department (CPD) has begun accepting bids for pre-construction services for its new headquarters.
CPD requires general contractors to submit bids by the Aug. 1 deadline.
City Council members voted earlier this year to approve a subcontracting method to complete the project. The method allows the selected contractor to bid portions of the overall project to separate entities.
The new 39,000-square-foot headquarters will be located just off of Neal Street. Previous estimates for the $14 million project called for a groundbreaking this August at the earliest.
