Nashville Man Charged Following Pursuit In Fentress County

A Nashville man led Fentress County authorities on a pursuit Saturday and prompted a two-hour manhunt.

Fentress County Sheriff’s Office charged 24-year-old Zackary A. Shockley with felony evading, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and resisting arrest.

The vehicle pursuit began after deputies responded to the Grimsley Dollar General for an intoxicated man leaving in a red car. Deputies attempted a traffic stop at Mt. Caramel Church, but Shockley refused to stop and eventually crashed into a parked vehicle.

Shockley fled the scene and was found hiding in a barn two hours later on Leo Norris Road. The search prompted the Sheriff’s Office to release a warning Saturday evening asking Grimsley-area residents to keep their doors locked while authorities searched for Shockley.

An arrest warrant indicates that White County authorities had reported Shockley’s vehicle stolen and had active warrants for his arrest.
