A Cumberland County Deputy was struck by a vehicle near North Cumberland Elementary School Tuesday.
A joint press release from the Sheriff’s Office and Cumberland County School District states Officer Scott Iles was struck by a southbound vehicle on Highway 127 while directing traffic.
Iles sustained injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
