Walmart in Cookeville looks to hire at least 50 additional workers as they prepare to remodel the store beginning Jan. 6.
Store Manager Jacob Howard says the three-month process will involve replacing and removing counters throughout the store and reorganizing parts of the grocery section.
Employees will be transferred to the Algood Walmart to conduct the same process after Cookeville’s remodel is completed.
Howard says the store layout will only see minor changes as none of the departments are relocating within the store. The process is expected to be completed by the end of March.
The store will also see another change as separate crews are expected to remove the Cookeville location’s tile flooring and polishing the concrete underneath throughout the store. Howard says the Algood location will not experience the same flooring change.
People interested in applying for the positions are encouraged to visit Walmart’s website and apply online.
