Republican caucus members have selected Cameron Sexton as the next Republican Caucus Chairman.
Sexton of Crossville received 58 of 73 votes to defeat Knoxville Republican Jason Zachary.
Meantime, Cookeville Republican Ryan Williams fell short in his bid for House Majority Leader. Representative William Lamberth of Portland received 43 of 73 votes to defeat Williams, who previously served as Republican Caucus Chairman.
Williamson County Republican Glen Casada won the Speaker of the House position.
The nominations will be voted on by the full house later this year.
