Authorities have charged a Cookeville man with second offense DUI after he crashed his vehicle into a power pole Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened on Gainesboro Grade near Chester King Road.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the driver as 47-year-old Donald Bandy.
According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol Crash report, Bandy was traveling west on Gainesboro Grade when his vehicle left the roadway, crossed a private drive, and struck a TVA main power pole. The impact of the crash caused the power pole to break in half.
The incident caused power outages for residents in Jackson and Putnam County.
