A Smith County man faces charges after reportedly having sexual relations with a minor.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested 28-year-old Shawn Cody Boyd of Elmwood with one count statutory rape and one count solicitation of a minor.
Boyd was arrested after the TBI received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the incidents. The Smith County Sheriff’s Department and Cookeville Police assisted in the investigation.
Boyd is currently being held at the Smith County Jail. A bond amount was not released by the TBI.
