Juvenile Flown to Vanderbilt After Downtown Cookeville Crash

A juvenile was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious injuries after a collision between two motorcycles and a pickup truck in Downtown Cookeville Monday.

The accident occurred at the corner of East Spring Street and South Washington Avenue in front of the Putnam County Justice Center.

According to Cookeville Police Captain Bobby Anderson, 18-year-old Joshua Bowman, of Cookeville, attempted to turn left onto South Washington Avenue when he struck the first motorcycle driven by 41-year-old Jeremiah Stack, of Cookeville. Stack had a juvenile passenger on the bike with him.

A second motorcycle, driven by 37-year-old Jesse Jackson, of Cookeville, slid to the ground and struck Stack’s motorcycle.

Stack suffered injuries and was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Both Bowman and Jackson were uninjured in the collision. Police issued Bowman a citation for failure to yield.
