No decision has been made by the State Emergency Communication District on the future of the Overton-Pickett E-911 District.
The state has met with officials for three hours, discussing the potential of creating a new E-911 district for Picket County.
Pickett County officials applied to disband from the Overton-Pickett partnership in May following investigations into Chris Masiongale.
The state has questioned several individuals, including Pickett County Executive Richard Daniel, Overton County Executive Ben Danner, and Overton-Pickett Emergency Communications District Director Chris Masiongale.
State Representative Kelly Keisling is set to speak to the district momentarily .
The board is looking into whether the split would benefit Pickett County or threaten financial stability of both counties.
If the board votes to allow Pickett County to create its own district, a referendum will be placed on an election ballot to let the voters decide.
