McMinnville’s 2018 Main Street Live outdoor concert series will feature some new bands.
Midnight Riders, Don Coyote, and Forever Abbey Road will be among the new faces this year.
Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Katie Kemezis said she tries to have something new to present each year.
“This year, we also wanted to not be fearful of bands that are going to be bringing a new sound. It might attract a younger audience or a different audience that we had before,” Kemezis said. “That’s why we are excited to have a mix of crowd pleasers that we know people love, as well as some new bands to introduce to McMinnville and hopefully build a little bit of a following here.”
This will be the 14th year of Main Street Live.
“It started out with pretty humble beginnings, playing down in the court square of McMinnville with just a few spectators,” Kemezis said. “Now it has grown to have a couple thousand every show.
Kamezis said the event started with an idea of bringing a showcase event that attracts people to downtown.
“We want people to experience that. There are people in our own town that haven’t been able to get a formal introduction to their downtown,” she said. “Main Street Live lets us have a gateway for those folks to experience downtown as it’s been revitalized.”
McMinnville Live begins June 8th and will be taking place every Friday evening through July 27th.
