A Fentress County Grand Jury has indicted a Morgan County man on murder and arson charges.
48-year-old Jonathan Donavan Smith is charged with one count of aggravated arson and one count of second degree murder in the death of Melissa L. Durham.
Authorities said Durham died in a residential fire on Maynard Drive in Grimsley in December of 2017.
TBI special agents said they developed information that led them to Smith as the person responsible for Durham’s death. Officials said further information revealed that Smith intentionally set the fire at the residence.
