TDOT has opened Highway 25 at the rockfall mitigation site in Smith County.
TDOT opened the road Thursday afternoon, one day before they originally planned the open the road which has been closed since June.
TDOT closed the road after deterioration on a rock bluff led to dangerous debris falling onto the roadway.
Officials said rockfall mitigation will continue until May and some temporary closures could still take place.
