Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested a Gainesboro man for allegedly shooting his girlfriend Wednesday.
Charles Carpenter is charged with attempted first-degree murder and remains in the Jackson County Jail under $150,000 bond.
According to officials the shooting happened on the 500-block of Stacy Cemetery Lane.
The TBI said the victim received medical treatment and was later released from the hospital.
