A two vehicle crash in Warren County this morning has claimed the life of one person.
The crash happened on Highway 70 in the Newtown community. The deceased is identified as 27-year-old Kendall Wooten.
Authorities said the crash happened when Wooten failed to stop at the stop sign at Spring Valley Road. A report indicates that Wooten’s vehicle crossed into the path of another vehicle driven by 19-year-old Caitlyn Phillips, who was eastbound on Nashville Highway.
The impact caused Wooten’s 2001 Ford Ranger to overturn into a ditch.
Wooten was pronounced dead at River Park Hospital and Phillips received treatment for injuries at River Park.
The THP said Wooten was not wearing a seat belt, which would have made a difference in the outcome of the crash.
