Livingston Aldermen chose not to approve the second reading of an ordinance banning billboards.
The measure was approved last month, but a second and final reading failed this week.
Mayor Curtis Hayes said he couldn’t comment on the matter because of pending litigation.
One local company recently filed a suit in Chancery court seeking permission to build a billboard after being repeatedly denied a permit.
