Livingston Aldermen approved an action banning billboards in the city limits.
The aldermen considered and approved measures recommended by the city’s Municipal Planning Commission. One dealt with content of signs and off-premises signs while the other banned billboards.
Mayor Curtis Hayes said he couldn’t comment on the matter because of pending litigation.
One local company recently filed a suit in Chancery court seeking permission to build a billboard after being repeatedly denied a permit.
