The DeKalb County Commission chose not to post a speed limit on Ragland Bottom Road.
At Monday’s monthly meeting, residents requested a 25 mph speed limit.
Commissioner Jerry Adcock moved for a 35 mph speed limit.
Several commissioners said they were concerned about posting the speed limit, but not having the law enforcement manpower to enforce it.
State law sets a 55 mph speed limit on county roads, unless the county government creates a lesser speed zone.
