A hit-and-run incident stalled Interstate 40 traffic in Cumberland County this afternoon.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Greg Tramel, a tractor trailer struck another semi near eastbound mile marker 320. Tramel said the tractor trailer failed to stop and continued 21 miles until officers stopped the driver just inside Roane County.
The crash scene caused traffic to back up for at least three miles.
The investigation continues and more information will be released once a crash report is completed.
