The Tennessee Tech Board of Trustees approved a plan to restructure university administration, including hiring a new vice president.
A new vice president will oversee a division dedicated to student success, from recruitment to career placement. Ten existing departments will report to that individual, including financial aid, scholarships and military and veterans affairs.
The university will conduct a nationwide search for the position.
Also, the Chief Information Technology Officer will no longer be part of the president’s cabinet. That position will be reclassified as an executive director and will report to the vice president of Planning and Finance.
The plan also creates a Chief of Staff in the president’s office.
