Putnam County’s school year began without a hitch Tuesday.
Director Jerry Boyd said the first full day of school began with a lot of promise, just like every school day should.
“Just want to thank everyone for ensuring we get off to a great start to our school year, all the cooperation of parents, certainly the focus and expertise and excitement of our teachers, our principals and our staff and our students,” Boyd said.
Full school days will continue for the rest of the week.
Putnam County was the first Upper Cumberland County back to school. Overton and Jackson counties will hold their first full days of school Friday.
