There’s a new business coming to Monterey.
The town’s Board of Zoning Appeals has approved variances needed for a new 16,000 square foot pharmacy to locate on East Stratton Avenue.
Mayor Bill Wiggins said the developer has not released the name of the retailer, but he’s excited about the new addition.
“For sure it’s going to be a major retailer,” Wiggins said. “It should be a very attractive place to shop and I’m assuming they will have a variety of merchandise.”
The Monterey Planning Commission has also approved plans for the project. The pharmacy will be located adjacent to Dairy Queen and across the street from Volunteer Electric.
