The Algood Police Department is now hiring new police officers.
Interim Police Chief Bryant Swallows said the department has a number of open positions that need to be filled.
“We are down to 8 officers right now and we are slotted for 14,” Swallows said. “I’d like to fill as many as possible to get us back up to full staff.”
Swallows said those who want to apply must be 21-years-old, POST certified, and be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Applications will be taken until July 14th.
