The Tennessee Department of Transportation has awarded the construction contract for repairs to Smithville’s Memorial Bridge on South College Street.
The bid went to Livingston-based Mid State Construction for a total cost of $222,894.
The bridge closed down nearly a year ago after a landfill truck struck the underside of the bridge. Construction is expected to be completed by October 31st of this year.
