Volunteer Energy Cooperative has scheduled a planned power outage for Cumberland County’s Fairfield Glade and Hebbertsburg areas.
VEC Communications and Public Relations Coordinator Julie Jones said the outage will begin Friday night at 11:00 p.m.
“We are doing this because we have to install two poles at the junction of Peavine Road and Snead,” Jones said. “We can’t leave any power up in that area because of the danger to our workers.”
Jones said the outage will last for approximately six hours and that people using medical equipment should make arrangements during that time period.
“If someone is on a CPAP or an oxygen machine they need to have another alternative like a generator or maybe spend the night with someone else,” Jones said.
